About Julian
Julian Medina is the acclaimed Chef/Owner of some of New York's top casual and modern Mexican concepts including Toloache, Coppelia, Tacuba Mexican Cantina, La Chula Taqueria, El Fish Marisqueria, El Verano, Soledad and Amarena, the forthcoming Italian spot opening on
the Upper East Side this February.
When growing up in Mexico City, Julian was inspired by his family's passion for authentic home cooking. This prompted him to go through professional culinary training before ultimately moving to New York, where he graduated from the French Culinary Institute with recognitions. Since 1999, Chef Medina has created numerous acclaimed food concepts in and surrounding New York City, garnering accolades from the food media, including The New York Times and The New Yorker, and has appeared on various high profile television shows.
